I am available to travel to schools, homes and businesses and teach guitar, bass and drums all over Manchester and Cheshire in areas such as Didsbury, Chorlton, Burnage, Levenshulme, Sale, Hale, Altrincham, Prestwich and further afield. Each lesson is individually planned for the pupil, focusing on their interests (e.g. learning songs of their choice), whilst providing a structured progression and teaching the techniques needed to become a great all-round musician.

Scales/technique

I will teach you scales, technique and the theory behind music so that you can go on to improvise and be creative.

Aural training

I can teach you the skills you need to listen to a piece of music (or a melody in your head) and then play it yourself.

 

Sight reading

I will start out with exercises that separate the melody and the rhythm, so that you only need to focus on one at a time, and once you understand these we will work on both together.

 

Songs of your choice

You can let me know the songs you wish to learn and I will then transcribe the music for you and make backing tracks, so that as well as learning the songs with me during the lesson, you can practise with the backing track in your own time.

Rockschool books

I work with the Rockschool graded books and have prepared many students for success in their guitar, bass and drum grade exams, across the levels. I can assess your current ability and start you at the appropriate level, then we can work with the Rockschool materials to help you progress.
